Publishing makes your charts visible in the Community Gallery where other users can discover, learn from, and engage with your work.

How to Publish

From My Space

  1. Go to My Space
  2. Find the chart you want to publish
  3. Click the menu icon (three dots)
  4. Select Publish to Community
  5. Confirm publication

From Chart View

  1. Open your saved chart
  2. Click the Publish button in the top bar
  3. Review the publication settings
  4. Click Confirm

During Save

When saving a new chart:
  1. Fill in the title and description
  2. Check the Publish to Community option
  3. Click Save & Publish

Title & Description

Make your chart discoverable:
Write a clear title that describes the analysis:
  • Good: “G7 vs BRICS: GDP Growth Comparison 2010-2024”
  • Avoid: “My Chart” or just “GDP”
Your description should include:
  • What the chart shows
  • Key findings or insights
  • Why this analysis is interesting

Tags

Add relevant tags to help users find your chart:

Visibility Options

Public (Published)

  • Visible in Community Gallery
  • Anyone can view and share
  • Appears in search results
  • Can receive likes and comments

Private (Unpublished)

  • Only visible to you in My Space
  • Shareable via direct link only
  • Not indexed in Community Gallery
  • No public engagement features

Unlisted

  • Not shown in Community Gallery
  • Accessible via direct link
  • Good for sharing with specific people
  • No public discovery

What Gets Published

When you publish a chart, the following becomes visible:
Visible to everyone:
  • Chart visualization
  • Title and description
  • Indicators used
  • Countries/regions included
  • Date range
  • Your username
What stays private:
  • Your other saved charts
  • Your search history
  • Your account settings

Managing Published Charts

Editing Published Charts

You can edit a published chart at any time:
  1. Open the chart
  2. Click Edit in Dashboard
  3. Make your changes
  4. Save to update the published version
Changes are reflected immediately.

Unpublishing

To remove a chart from the Community Gallery:
  1. Go to My Space
  2. Find the published chart
  3. Click the menu icon
  4. Select Unpublish
The chart remains in your library but is no longer public.

Verify the indicators and countries are correct.

Ensure the date range makes sense for your analysis.

Make it descriptive and searchable.

Include key findings in the description.

Preview the Chart

View it as others will see it.

Quality Guidelines

Published charts should:
  • Show accurate, well-sourced data
  • Have clear, descriptive titles
  • Include meaningful descriptions
  • Use appropriate chart types for the data
  • Be original analyses (not duplicates)

Engagement

After publishing:
  • Respond to comments on your charts
  • Update charts if data changes significantly
  • Share your charts on social media
  • Engage with other creators’ work
